Customer company
Casoni is one of Italy’s oldest liqueur manufacturers. The firm was established in 1814 by Giuseppe Casoni.
Over forty years ago, the sixth generation took over the business with Mario Casoni, who runs the firm with passion and dynamism.

Casoni’s current range of products remains true to company traditions and quality - Amaro Braulio, Anicione, Limoncetta di Sorrento and Mirto are just some of the products on offer.

Their requirement
Casoni has always been closely focused on optimising production costs and needed to include in its production lines versatile capping machines able to cater for working different types of products and closings with practical and fast size changeover.

They required machines able to work with pilfer-proof capsules, T-shaped cork caps or caps of the pre-threaded type.

Our solution
Kompass Technology manufactured capping units for three different production lines, all featuring double cap feed system and quick size changeover for making switching from one type of closing to another easier.

The machines made – for production outputs that go from 80 to 130 bottles/min – are of the free-standing type, and therefore have their own control panels and conveyor belts.

The capping system contemplates both the “flying” distribution of the capsules, with the bottle independently taking the capsule from a distributing head, and the pick & place system, in which case the capping heads perform the cap pickup operation and then position the cap correctly on the bottles at infeed.

Equipment featuring rapid release and unified couplings for the capping heads enables the operator in charge of size changeover to quickly intervene on the machine, without wasting time and thus optimising production times.

Further specifications
The capping systems, which are designed and made together with the customer so as to best cater for its demands, feature cap re-ordering devices, for all types of closing, fitted above the central turrets; this makes it possible to always have at disposal the feed of the capsules to be worked without every time having to empty the feed hoppers and having to carry out inconvenient and sometimes hazardous operations. All that has to be done is replace the closing head (threader, screwer or pressure) and the bottle conveying equipment to be able to start working with the product. closing head
