Alpla needed to automate the assembly of a container for detergents and the respective spout, both made by them.
The peculiarity of this automatism consists in the fact that the spout, before fitting, must be positioned so as to obtain all the assembled containers with a very precise and identical criterion, thereby ready to be distributed to their end customers without any further intervention, including manual.
Positioning and fitting also had to be controlled to ensure an end result with an error margin close to 0%, bringing plant efficiency to maximum levels. |

Kompass Technology placed its know-how at disposal to make this special capping machine and, in 2007, made the first three plants for the American market.
The machines were designed to make about 90 containers/minute, and are a perfect symbiosis of precision mechanical engineering and cutting-edge electronic solutions. This product line is therefore identified as EVOLUTION.
The STAR FOUR PS PK EVO model supplied to Alpla consists of a Spout re-ordering and feed system which allows loading the loose spouts which are then supplied to the machine in an orderly way, ready to be picked up, positioned and fitted in the containers.
A brushless type system checks the capping heads which pick up the arriving spouts, checks their position by means of a laser detection system, turns them by the number of degrees needed to reach the correct position and inserts them in the container.
The bottle assembled with its spout exits from the machine and crosses the control section, where a camera system takes a photo of the containers and, by means of a software designed specifically for this application, sends the correct or wrong product assembly signal. All this is completed by the ejection station which, in the event of the bottle not appearing correctly assembled on the control screen, engages to eliminate it from the conveyor line; this way the line is totally automated.
After 4 years of operation, the system operates with average rejects of 0.02%. |

To ensure continuous round-the-clock assistance to a major company like Alpla, a remote support was integrated in the electrical system which allows our engineers to link up to the production machines and analyze any problems, intervening, when possible, directly from the Kompass headquarters.
After the success of this first plant, cooperation with Alpla continues, acquiring new technical solutions year by year. |
